Workshop Cottage is located in the stunning Royal Forest of Dean where there’s no shortage of walking and cycling trails with spectacular scenery and an abundance of wildlife. Leisure and Nature
Lovely picnic site just a few minutes walk fromWorkshop Cottage. Site has BBQs and toilets.
Take a stroll around the lake or enjoy the scenery over a nice cup of coffee. Great walking and cycling trails from here and the home of Go-Ape!
There’s plenty to do at Beechenhurst – there’s a large climbing wall, archery, cycling, walking, forest arts, Zog trail and excellent picnic facilities as well as a cafe.
A mature oak woodland in the heart of the Forest of Dean. A large variety of native birds and other wildlife to spot as you stroll along the trails.
The legendary Symonds Yat Rock perches high above the beautiful River Wye as it meanders through the steep sided valley. A delight to stroll by the river or take a boat trip and discover more of the Wye Valley.
A series of ponds which host a wildlife reserve and a popular fishing spot. Also ideal for a picnic or just a stroll around.
Similar to Cannop ponds, Soudley is home to a large variety of wildlife and is a popular destination for anglers.
Sports and Activities
For canoe and kayak adventures on the river Wye. They also offer other sports such as archery, paddle boarding and abseiling.
For a mountain biking experience look no further. They also offer MTB coaching and regularly hold events.
Tactical outdoor laser combat. Like paintball but without the bruises! This high-adrenaline experience has a reange of missions for children and adults.
Try your hand at SCUBA diving. They also have an awesome aqua park and lots of activities.
If swinging through the trees-tops and hurtling down zip lines is your thing then look no further. Hope you have a head for heights!
Set in the heart of the forest, this is a museum of Forest life and so much more. They have a superb cafe!
Well suited to younger visitors, there’s lots of activities for children as well as the working steam railway.

A stunning Michelin Star restaurant at sensible prices. A real gourmet experience! Allow a good 3 hours for their lunch or dinner menu.
Delicious home-cooked food in a pleasant country pub atmosphere. They also have live music events.
A local brewery offering a selection of their delicious real ales. Brewery tour and other experiences can also be had.
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. Their fish selection is extensive and absolutely sublime! A real treat!
Offering a selection of crafts from local craftspeople and artists. Hart’s Barn is also renowned for it’s superb school of cookery which offers an extensive range classes.
